     - A Photographic Journey

After spending almost 20 years in architectural photography in Connecticut, my husband, Russ and I retired to the exceptionally beautiful area of Beaufort, South Carolina.  This was 2001 when the digital format was just beginning to overtake film.  After a few years trying out a digital point-and-shoot, while still clutching onto my ever faithful film cameras, I took the plunge completely into digital photography.  It allowed me more creativity than I had ever imagined.

I now concentrate on Fine Art Photography with a slight edge towards impressionism.  I also love  abstract and close up views of the world that I live in, or have the privilege to visit.  A traveler at heart, my journeys  around the world have created a portfolio of dramatic, colorful yet inspiring images.

BIO:

Back in ancient times, my youth was spent in Schenectady, NY. Not venturing far from home, I graduated from Nazareth College in Rochester, and received my MBA in Marketing from the University at Albany (NY).

I have ben involved in photography club on the east coast, first in the 1970's and 80's as a member and past president of the Candlewood Camera Club in Danbury, Connecticut. Once retiring to South Carolina, I was fortunate to meet a group of talented photographers who wanted a place in Northern Beaufort County where we could share our passion for Photography.  In 2005 we established the PHOTOGRAPHY CLUB OF BEAUFORT.  I was president for the first two formative years, and now serve on its board of directors.  I am also on the board of the Beaufort Art Association.

In 2010-11 I was fortunate to be associated with the Beaufort Three-Century project which enabled me to create an exhibit and book called Hands Across The Lowcountry.  Click here to see  Images and book information.

In 2015 I photographed cats throughout Beaufort and created the CATS OF BEAUFORT book with each cat telling their own story.  This was a fundraiser for Tabby House, an adoption center for cats in Beaufort.  Click here to see images from the book.

Photography aside, I also an an active member of Therapy Dog International.  My husband and I take our English Setter, Dixie, to nursing homes, assisted living centers and Alzheimer care centers,  several times a month.  Weekly,  we participate in Tail Wagging Tutors, a program that encourages young students to read to the dogs.  Dixie loves every minute of the attention she gets and gives.

My artwork is currently on exhibit at the Brick Wall Gallery of  Beaufort Art Association Gallery (913 Bay St, Beaufort); Beaufort County Office Complex, Lowcountry Medical Center and OLLI Center of USCBeaufort.

JUDGING Accredidation:  In the past 20 years I  have judged numerous photo competitions throughout New England, South Carolina and North Carolina.  In 2011 I received certification in Image Analysis from the Photographic Society of America.
